The Chrysosporium anamorph of Nannizziopsis vriesii, recently identified as the cause of cutaneous infections in chameleons and brown tree snakes, was associated with skin infections and deaths in saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) hatchlings on two separate occasions 3 years apart (1994 and 1997). In all, 48 animals died from the infection. All hatchlings came from the same farm in northern Queensland, Australia.
